Unity through diversity

Family Life Church is a multi-cultural, multi-generational congregation. Our teaching and ministry are both practical and relational, addressing the challenges that face today's families.

The FLC Sisterhood seeks to provide women with opportunities to meet other women and form strong relationships. Through friendships we become sisters and our lives are enriched. Join one of the Sisterhood Groups below to become part of the Sisterhood family. The FLC Sisterhood also hosts events, retreats and gatherings throughout the year.

Sisterhood Small Groups

As women of Family Life Church, we must prepare our hearts and spend time with other women sharing our hearts - to be of one heart!  This year our small groups will focus on empowering women to grow in their faith to boldly influence their families, church body, and community through love and leadership.  Our goal is for women of any age or background to join a group and connect and grow with the sisters in that group.  We hope that you find the group that is just right for you!

Group 1

Karis Watson & Maria Solano - "You Have it in You" by Sheryl Brady (Every other Monday at 6:30pm)

This book study will ask you: Do you know what you’re made of? More importantly, do you want to discover the strengths lying dormant inside you?  Brady hopes you will be inspired to view challenges as opportunities for self-discovery and faith enrichment. She believes she can give you a new perspective on all that God has brought you through and a greater awareness of all that you’ve accomplished and endured.

Group 2

Tiffany Lunsford & Karen Moellenbrink - "Breathe" by Priscilla Shirer (Every other Tuesday at 10:30am)

One of the greatest challenges for women in our culture is taking time to cease all activities and just breathe. We are in bondage to busyness. We constantly strive to complete the limitless to-do lists that hinder us from experiencing all that God has for us. By neglecting time for tranquility, serenity, and repose, we limit our Christlikeness and miss out on some of God's greatest gifts. In the Old Testament, Sabbath was given to the Israelites as a gift, and it is still a gift to us today. If you are weary, worn out, and exhausted, then the concept of Sabbath will change your life.

Group 3

Sharlene Royalty & Beth Calhoun - "Boundaries - When to Say Yes" by Henry Cloud (Every other Monday at 6:30pm)

Having clear boundaries is essential to a healthy, balanced lifestyle. A boundary is a personal property line that marks those things for which we are responsible. In other words, boundaries define who we are and who we are not. Boundaries impact all areas of our lives: Physical boundaries determine who may touch us, mental boundaries give us the freedom to have our own thoughts, emotional boundaries help us to deal with our own emotions and spiritual boundaries allow us to distinguish God's will from our own.

Group 4

Liz Stevenson & Kristal Smith - "Keep it Shut" by Karen Ehman (Every other Monday at 6:45pm)

Keep It Shut by Karen Ehman explores how to better control your tongue. From Bible times to modern times, women have struggled with their words. What to say and how to say it. What not to say. When it is best to remain silent. And what to do when you’ve said something you wish you could take back. In this book, a woman whose mouth has gotten her into loads of trouble shares the hows (and how-not-tos) of dealing with the tongue.

Group 5

Chelsea Tennant, Scarlett Tandy, & Heather Rodriguez - "40 Days of Love: We were made for relationships" by Rick Warren (Every other Sunday at 6:00pm)

Loving God with all your heart and your neighbor as yourself were Jesus' priorities while on earth. Learn to love like Jesus - with patience, kindness, truth, and forgiveness. Designed for use with the 40 Days of Love small group DVD study, this workbook guides the participant through discovering their own life goals and what Jesus teaches about love. Discover that the more we learn how to love authentically, the more we become like Jesus.

ManStrength, FLC's Men's Ministry seeks to provide men with opportunities to meet other men and form solid relationships. The FLC Men's ministry is a service oriented group actively involved in the community. FLC Men assemble bicycles for children each Christmas, work BCDC outreach events and serve families in need throughout the church. The Holy Smokers serve the best barbecue in Texas, cooking for church wide events and outreaches.

"A wise man has great power and a man of knowledge increases strength."
